My Education

I graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta, Summa cum Laude, with a Batchelor of Arts in Advertising in 2012. After graduating, I used my remaining credit from my GI Bill to take a lot of Web Design classes and fell in love. In 2020, I graduated from the Code Boot Camp at The Clubhou.se.

My Military Experience

I served in the US Army on active duty from June 2006 to November 2009. After my time on active duty, I was in the Army Reserves. I received an Honorable discharge in May 2014. Serving my country helped me become more disciplined and better able to complete difficult tasks.

My Passions

In addition to my love for coding, I also love graphic design, photo manipulation, building computers and video games. They all feed into my love for puzzle solving. I love to solve problems. The more difficult the problem, the greater the feeling of euphoria when I solve it.

My Work

Alaska Website

This was a voluntary Code Boot Camp project to help me improve my HTML and CSS skills. I also used all original photos taken during a cruise through Alaska with my wife. It is a responsive site using grid CSS and it looks as good on a phone as it does on a monitor.

Moneybags Website

This was also a voluntary Code Boot Camp project. We were given a screenshot and told to recreate the site from provided images. I rebuilt the website while adding responsiveness. I also filled in a few areas of the site with new content that matched and improved the overall theme.

Sellers Marketing Solutions

In 2013 I was a Front-End Web Designer for Sellers Marketing Solutions. I used mostly HTML and CSS. The company website was the first of many websites I created for the company. Though they are no longer in business, the former owner, Justin Sellers, has allowed me use this on my portfolio site.

World Children's Festival 2015 Website

This is a website I developed while I was in school at the Art Institute of Atlanta. While it is a non-traditional and dated website, it shows my ability to think differently and develop websites that are creative, interesting, and not just a bunch of stacked boxes.
